21 Jamia Millia researchers appear in Stanford University’s top 2% global list of scientists

A total of 21 Jamia Millia Islamia researchers have appeared in Stanford University’s top 2% global scientists list. The list that was published recently was prepared by a team of experts from Stanford University, led by Professor John Ioannidis.

Scientists at Stanford University created a database of the most cited scientists that provided standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations to articles in different positions of authorship, and a composite indicator (c-score) .

The list showed separate data for career-long research and recent-year impact. Data for career-long research was updated to the end of 2021, and current year data consists of citations received during calendar year 2021. Selection is based on a 2% percentile rank or higher than the subfield. . The list classified scientists into 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields.

Almost three thousand researchers from India found a place on the list. Stanford University published two separate lists. The first list is based on a long career search, in this list seven JMI professors found their place. The second list was for the performance of the year 2021, it had 21 JMI scientists. The publicly available database has more than 100,000 prominent scientists.
