CUET UG 2022 result: The scorecard for the Central University Entrance Test (CUET UG) will look very different from that issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to JEE Main and NEET candidates. The National Testing Agency has published the CUET result, it is available at

Unlike the national entrance exams for engineering and medicine, after which a common counseling process (read: common seat allotment) begins, there will be no centralized admission for the 90 colleges that participate in CUET. Each university will conduct its own admission based on merit lists drawn up based on applicants’ CUET score.

This, in turn, means that NTA will not record any All India merit or marks and category wise cut off marks in the CUET scorecard as it usually does with NEET and JEE Main.

“Think about the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) or SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) reports, which basically just tell you how well you scored in a section or subject. It says nothing about your performance relative to other examinees. Candidates then use this score to apply to universities. CUET will not be too different from this,” a senior official told The Indian Express.

In other words, the CUET dashboard looks much simpler. This is what it reflects:

1. Name of candidate, registration number, application number and photograph

2. Candidate’s father’s name and mother’s name

3. Category (General, OBC, EWS, SC, ST, PwD)

4. Gender

5. A table that will bear the name of the subjects of the domain in which the candidate has been assessed. The percentile score and absolute (but normalized) score will be mentioned in each of the domain papers taken by the candidate. Another column in this table will indicate the absolute/normalized score in words. The normalized absolute score will be in the range of 200 to -40 points in all subjects other than the General Test. In the case of the General Test, the normalized score will be in the range of 300 to -60 points.

6. Signature of the official of the NTA

7. A set of usual disclaimers and footnotes such as percentile score is not the same as percentage of marks obtained, definition of percentile and how it is calculated, etc.

This is the first year that admission to degree programs in 44 central universities is through a common entrance test. Nearly 10 thousand unique candidates had registered for the exam. It was carried out in several phases over a month and a half. The launch of CUET had its share of problems with the exam being postponed and even canceled entirely due to technical issues.

To address the initial issues next year, the NTA is exploring a reduction in the number of options and subject combinations. Reducing the number of subject combinations offered and revising the number of cities where exams are held are among the measures being considered.

In an interview with The Indian Express last month, NTA chief Vineet Joshi said, “This was the first year of CUET and people were worried that this would be another entrance test that would push students towards in training. In this context, we decided not to limit the subject combinations offered. This resulted in more than 45,000 unique subject combinations chosen by students appearing at CUET-UG. However, from the suggestions from various academics and students, we are now looking for a balance. We might propose a reduction in the basket of subjects from which candidates can choose…” he said.
