Drinking the spirit of ‘Panch Pran’: UGC in educational institutes

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to work on modalities to imbibe the spirit of ‘Panch Pran’ and Lifestyle for the Environment (LiFE) mission, which announced on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in August. 15.

UGC has urged HEIs to follow the ‘panch pran’ as guided by the Prime Minister and imbibe the same spirit in the higher education system of the country.

“The need of the hour is to solve the challenges facing our planet through human-centered collective efforts and robust actions that promote sustainable development,” states the official UGC notification.

According to the UGC notification, the ‘Panch Pran’ includes the resolution to take the country forward as a developed India, erase all traces of servitude, be proud of India’s heritage and legacy, the strength of ‘unity and solidarity and the duties of citizens towards the nation. .

“The activities carried out in this regard can be shared on the University Activity Monitoring Portal (UAMP) of the UGC”, adds the notification.

Further, taking forward the Prime Minister’s message on ‘Panch Pran’ for Amrit Kaal, the Department of Youth Affairs is carrying out the ‘Swachh Bharat 2.0’ campaign across the country through the Nehru Yuva Network Kendra Sangathan and of the National Service Scheme.
