DU Admissions 2022: Over 9000 Students Accept College, CSAS Round 3 Alloted Course

Of the 16,231 seats allotted for degree programs in the third round of allotment at Delhi University, as many as 9,504 students had accepted their allotted college and course as of 7 pm on Monday , a university official said.

The university also issued the first merit lists under the quota of Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA), sports and Children/widows of Armed Forces (CW) personnel.

In the first list, 765 candidates have been allotted seats under the ECA quota, while 1,212 and 2,857 candidates have been selected under the sports and CW categories, respectively.

“In the third round of seat allocation, a total of 16,231 places have been allocated. Of these, 9,504 students have accepted the college and the course allotted to them,” a senior college official told PTI.

The university had declared the third seat list on Sunday.

To date, more than 61,500 students have been admitted to the university’s degree programs, against 70,000 places.

In the third round of Common Seat Allotment System (CSAS), admissions are being made to all supernumerary quotas including ECA, Sports, CW and Kashmiri migrants along with regular admissions.

Colleges will verify and approve online applications from November 14-16. The deadline for online payment of admission fees is November 17.

After the completion of the third round, the university will open an upgrade window only for supernumerary seats and Christian candidates in the St. Stephen’s College and at Jesus and Mary College (JMC) from 18 to 19 November.

“Candidates who had opted to take admission in any of the supernumerary quotas and wish to opt for an upgrade in the subsequent round of that particular supernumerary quota can do so from 10 am on Friday (November 18) until 16:59 on Saturday.

“Such candidates will only be considered for upgradation of supernumerary quota,” the registrar said.

The university will also declare the vacant seats for the first round of CSAS seat allotment on November 20. Candidates can apply for this round from November 21 to November 22. The first seat allotment list will be published on November 23.

Candidates will be able to accept the allocated places between November 24 and 26.

Last date for online payment of admission fees by candidates is 27th November.

“On the declaration of the first round of admission to the post, the admission of already admitted candidates will be blocked and they will not be considered for upgrades (except supernumerary upgrades),” the registrar said.

“In the same way, admitted candidates will not be able to withdraw their admissions in the announcement of the first round of admission of places. To be considered for a one-time admission round, a candidate will have to opt for ‘One-time Admission’ through their board,” he added.

The university may announce further rounds of points admission at a later stage.

Admission through the ECA supernumerary quota for the academic year 2022-23 is made in 14 categories. The university held tests from October 18 to 27.

Representation of at least 1 per cent each (of the total intake capacity of the university) for ECA and sports quota is mandatory for all colleges of Delhi University, subject to a limit of 5 percent of the university’s total intake capacity in total for ECA and sports quota together.

The university has said that a separate merit list will be declared for candidates seeking admission under the CW quota.

As many as 2,857 candidates have been allotted seats in colleges in the first CW allotment list.

Five percent seats are reserved for candidates of children/widows of armed forces personnel in programs through universities.

The admission process, which started on September 12, is being carried out in three phases: application process, filling of preferences and allotment of seats-admission.

This year, DU admits students through Common College Entrance Test (CUET) scores instead of Class 12 marks.
