Indian Institute of Technology Madras has launched an e-mobility course for working professionals. Registration is open until September 30. The course will provide an overview of the electric mobility ecosystem and fundamentals in technical areas such as vehicle development, power electronics, battery engineering, thermal management, powertrains and EMI/EMC. etc. Course classes will begin on October 2. In this course, four of the nine modules will be taught by professionals in the sector.
The certificate program was conceived with input from industry experts and would be continuously updated based on technology trends, market trends and industry needs.
The course is offered by the Center for Digital Outreach and Education (CODE), IIT Madras.
Ecosystem details on global and Indian market trends, technology trends, policy trends and supply chain trends will be taught before delving into the technical details.
IIT Madras Director Prof V Kamakoti said last year, the university started a dual degree program in EV Engineering, it was exclusively for BTech students. In addition, they received inquiries from people in the auto industry about the need to retrain and upskill many of their employees as the industry grows exponentially and the focus shifts to electric vehicles.
Professor Kamakoti said they are launching the course to address the needs of professionals working in various industries and various departments.
