NEET PG 2022 Counselling: Reduced Cut Off Marks for Academic Session 2022-23

The National Medical Commission (NMC) announced that the Center has approved lowering the cut-off marks for admission to PG medical programmes. According to the official notification, the cut off marks have been reduced by 25 percentile in all categories.

Now for General category the cut off is 25th percentile, 20th percentile for General category candidates, 15th percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 15th percentile for PwD (SC/ST/OBC ).

This decision has been taken keeping in mind that a large number of seats had fallen vacant in the PG counseling conducted for last year’s admissions. “Since these vacant postgraduate places are a huge waste of resources in a country where postgraduate medical places are at a premium, it has been decided to lower the cut-off for admission to postgraduate courses for 2022-23 by one percentile 25 in all categories. dam,” an official source told PTI.

Meanwhile, the MCC added 197 seats in the first round of the NEET UG counseling seat allotment process as colleges could not contribute them before the start of the first round of UG counseling 2022.

“The Medical Advisory Committee has received information from the following institutes (list attached) regarding new seats which the colleges could not contribute before the commencement of Round 1 of UG Counseling 2022 as LoPs were received of NMC on 17.10.2022 Competent authority has therefore decided to include the following MBBS seats in the UG 2022 counseling round 1 seat matrix for the best interest of the candidates,” it states in the official notice of the MCC.
