NMC publishes guidelines for incoming MBBS students; The academic year will start from November 15

The academic year of the incoming MBBS students — who will be admitted for the 2022-23 academic calendar — will begin on November 15 and the rest of the vacations or breaks and exam timings will be arranged in accordance with the affiliated universities of the respective col laws, according to a notice published today by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

The NMC has announced that in electives, two blocks of 15 days each will be adjusted by the colleges for pre-clinical branches and clinical branches. Also, the supplementary exams must be carried out with an interval of one month with respect to the ordinary exams, and the results must be declared within 15 days. Also, as per the revised guidelines, there will be no additional batches.

According to the calendar published by the NMC, the academic calendar for year 1 of Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry will be 13 months (15 November 2022 to 15 December 2023). The second course of Pathology, Microbiology and Pharmacology will also be held for 13 months, from December 16, 2023 to January 15, 2025.

Meanwhile, the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has started the registration process for NEET UG Counseling 2022. As per the official schedule, the round 1 counseling registration link will be available for the candidates till at 11 am on October 17.

This year, the NEET UG exam was conducted in offline mode on July 17, while the NEET UG 2022 results were declared on September 7.
