Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said on Saturday that the process to implement the pay and service rules as per the Sixth Pay Commission for the government IT teachers working under the PICTUS Society was on full height
He said the education department has completed the documentation process and the file has been sent to the Finance Department and the Personnel Department for further action.
He said approval from the finance department is likely to be received soon.
Bains said he was continuously monitoring the process and was in touch with senior finance department officials.
He said that the Punjab government had implemented a policy to regularize the jobs of contractual teachers. In this sense, a portal has been put into operation to receive requests from contracted teaching staff.
Likewise, the demands of IT teachers will be attended to soon. He also said that if any employee of the education department is not permanent even after the implementation of the new government policy, then the government also promised to look into each case.
Bains said he was fully aware of all the legitimate demands of the teaching and non-teaching staff working in the education department and was committed to addressing those genuine demands soon.
